Happy New Year!

Ok so I’m a few days late but….  Take charge of 2018 now!

As you enter the new year actually take some time to write down your goals for 2018. No, don’t just keep those thoughts in your head, write them down. On paper. A checklist if you will. And put that list in a place where you will see it every day.

Resolutions are very easily broken and can be very hard to keep.

I usually end up have a lot of “resolutions,” but this year I decided to call them goals instead since there is a stigma that goes said new year resolutions. You know, that they are made to be broken.

So my first bit of advice is to actually write down your goals for the year.

Secondly, put some attainable goals on there. Saying you are going to drop 50 lbs in 6 weeks is already setting yourself up for failure if you haven’t even entered the gym in like ever! Instead, try saying you will commit to making it to the gym at least 3 times a week. I’m saying set some smaller goals on your list too so you know you can check them off. Maybe a smaller goal looks something like making sure you wash off your makeup before you fall asleep every single night… (I know its one of the worst things you can do for your face but it happens!). Or only going to Starbucks once a month instead of a few times a week… because it is fattening and expensive!

My last bit of advice is to CHARGE! Take charge of your life. Dive in head first and don’t stop chasing them goals or dreams, whatever you are after. Remember them 4 months down the road. Set up pit stops along the way, meaning check back on your list every few weeks. Once you start checking things off your momentum will be up and keep you going.

A few of mine are to:

*Write more, I’ve scheduled myself time to do so

*Do one random act of kindness a week

*Pray every single day

*Get to the gym 4 times a week no matter what (In my defense I was doing this one last year up until the holidays hit!)

If you have goals or dreams you are after this year don’t let this “new year, new me” fade in a few months. Don’t be like everyone else!

But don’t be too hard on yourself… if you are moving slowly at least you are moving. Slow progress is still progress.

Make lists. Make plans. Make moves. Make 2018 your best year yet!

I know I plan too!

      1. I did because I enjoyed reading it every day when I had a few years of blogs to read. I’m only asking for one or two a week (including Fab Friday). Love the goals and I will write down some of my own and maybe we can set a time to discuss them down the road and if we are on pace of meeting those goals.
